Terms of Service

By accessing or using Roastli (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. Roastli reserves the right to update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

Roastli is a specialty coffee tracking application that allows users to catalogue their coffee collection, log brewing sessions, track tasting notes, and connect with a community of coffee enthusiasts. The Service includes features such as AI-powered coffee bag scanning, a digital pantry, brew journaling, and a discovery feed.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at hello@roastli.com of any unauthorized use of your account.

You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service ("User Content"), including coffee entries, brew logs, tasting notes, and any other data you provide. By submitting User Content, you grantRoastli a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, display, and distribute your content solely to operate and improve the Service.

You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party.

The Service includes an AI coffee bag scanner powered by Google's Gemini API. This feature uses image recognition to identify coffee products and is subject to usage limits ("scan limits") as displayed within the application. Scan limits reset monthly. Roastli does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated results and you should always verify any information returned by the scanner.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise derive the source code of the Service.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to access the Service without our express written permission.
• Circumvent any security features, rate limits, or access controls in the Service.
• Upload malicious code, including viruses or malware, to the Service.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.

All intellectual property rights in the Service (excluding User Content), including but not limited to the software, design, graphics, trademarks, and logos, are owned by or licensed to Roastli. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use Roastli's trademarks, logos, or other brand features without our prior written consent.

The Service integrates with third-party services including Google Firebase (authentication, database), Google Gemini (AI features), and Vercel (hosting). Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. Roastli is not responsible for the practices of any third-party services.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Roastli does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Roastli makes no warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of any content on the Service, including AI-generated results.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roastli shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if Roastlihas been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event shall Roastli's total liability to you exceed the greater of $100 CAD or the amount you paid to Roastli in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the liability.

Roastli reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@roastli.com.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Toronto, Ontario.
